**Can you get a usable logo before you build a single page of your website?** Yes. In [Airo AI Builder](https://social.godaddy/3REyagr), you give it business context, answer a few questions, and describe the direction you want. It generates a logo from that input. You can download it, review it on real-world mock-ups, and stop there. Or build a website around it with one click.

No template grid. No designer required for the first pass. One focused brief in, a logo you can test and download out.

## Logo first, website second

[Airo AI Builder](https://social.godaddy/3REyagr) can make your logo before you touch a website. That order matters.

Most builders assume you already have a mark, or they hand you a template gallery and ask you to settle. Here you describe what the business is, who it serves, and the visual direction you want. The logo comes back first. You review it on its own terms. Only then do you decide whether to build a site around it.

Three steps: answer a few questions, describe your idea, get your logo. If you want, build the site around it after.

---

## A logo is one part of a brand system

A logo sits inside a bigger system. Thinking in layers helps you write a better brief.

**Foundation:** what the business stands for. Positioning, audience, promise, and what makes you different.

**Identity:** how you express it. Logo, colors, typography, imagery, and voice.

**Experience:** where customers meet all of it. Website, social channels, packaging, and the service itself.

Your first message can stay simple: business name, what it does, who it serves. Then add direction where it matters: the visual idea, the feeling, where the logo must work, and what to avoid.

---

## How to write one focused brief

Combine those layers into one prompt instead of dribbling details across ten messages.

In the walkthrough below, the business is **Tidal Wave Aquatics**, an adult competitive swim club with no website and no logo yet. The direction was already clear: wave imagery, a feeling that fits competitive swimming, and real-world uses like apparel and signage.

A focused brief might include:

1. **Business and audience** — Tidal Wave Aquatics, adult competitive swim team
2. **Visual idea** — wave motif, athletic and clean
3. **Feeling** — energetic, professional, trustworthy for serious swimmers
4. **Where it must work** — website header, social avatar, apparel, business cards
5. **What to avoid** — childish clip art, overly playful cartoon styles

Paste the complete brief into Airo AI Builder and build from **Logo Designer** mode on the **Brand** tab.

## What happens after you paste the brief

Airo AI Builder works for a moment, then returns your logo.

**Start with the plain logo.** Not the mock-ups first. Ask:

- Can I read it quickly?
- Does it still work when it is small?
- Does it fit this customer and this business?

Then review it in context. Airo AI Builder shows the same mark on a mug, business card, shirt, and box. Mock-ups tell you whether the idea still holds when it is not floating on a white screen.

If something is off, you can edit, refine, try a different style, or adjust the background before you commit.

---

## Four checks before you run with it

Run these every time, including after you finish editing:

| Check | Question |
|---|---|
| **Readable** | Can you read it at a glance? |
| **Recognizable** | Is it still clear when it is small (favicon, social avatar)? |
| **Relevant** | Does it fit the customer and the business you serve? |
| **Usable** | Does the plain logo work on its own, without a polished mock-up doing the selling? |

If the plain mark fails any of these, refine before you download or build a site.

---

## Edit, refine, or try a different style

You are not locked into the first result.

After the first logo generates, Airo AI Builder asks if you want to edit, refine, or try a different style. You can switch directions entirely and still edit from there. Change the background color. Ask for specific tweaks one at a time.

**One focused change per prompt.** Same rule as website builds. If you ask for a new style, a new color, and a new symbol in one message, you are more likely to get something you did not mean.

Nothing here is permanent. Launch with good enough and improve whenever.

---

## Already have a logo? Upload it

You do not have to generate a logo to use the **Brand** tab. Upload one you already have.

**Use a transparent PNG.** If your logo shows up inside a white box on your site, you probably uploaded a flattened file or a screenshot. Get the real file from whoever made your logo. Never use a screenshot as your logo file.

---

## Download your logo and build the site

Your logo is not stuck inside the app. On the **Logo** tab, click **Download** to save the file to your computer. You can stop right there. No website required.

When you are ready, click **Build my website**. After a short build, your full site appears with the new logo in the **header** and **footer**. Customize the placeholder copy for your business before you publish.

---

## Credits: what costs and what does not

Two doors:

- **Swapping a logo yourself in the editor** — free. No AI credits.
- **Asking chat to do logo or image work** — uses credits.

Do straight swaps by hand. Spend chat credits on changes you cannot do yourself. Keep it to one focused task per prompt.

---

## Checks no AI finishes for you

Ten minutes of searching beats a rebrand. The following is practical education, not legal advice.

**Search the name.** An available domain does not mean the name is legally clear.

**Check trademark records.** If you are in North America, look at USPTO filings and your state registrations.

**Find similar organizations and lookalikes.** A generated logo can accidentally resemble an existing business in your locale. Search before you print shirts or order signage.

---

## Your pre-launch checklist

Before you run with your logo:

- [ ] Business name spelled correctly
- [ ] Readable fast
- [ ] Recognizable when small
- [ ] Right for your customer
- [ ] Strong as a plain logo and on mock-ups
- [ ] Clear in the live header on **desktop and mobile**
- [ ] No obvious lookalikes found in a quick search
- [ ] Trademark search done (at least a first pass)
- [ ] Logo file downloaded somewhere safe

Look at the logo everywhere your business shows up: live site header, social avatar, and those real-life mock-ups. If something looks off anywhere, describe the change and try again. **If it only works in the preview, it does not work yet.**

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I get a logo before I build a website?

Yes. Airo AI Builder can generate your logo first. Download it and stop, or build a website around it when you are ready.

### What should I put in my logo brief?

Start with business name, what you do, and who you serve. Add visual direction, feeling, where the logo must work, and what to avoid. One complete brief beats many scattered messages.

### How do I know if my logo is good enough?

Run the four checks: readable, recognizable when small, relevant to your customer, and usable as a plain mark without mock-ups doing the work.

### Can I upload a logo I already have?

Yes. Use a transparent PNG from the original designer. Avoid screenshots and flattened files with white backgrounds.

### Does editing my logo always use credits?

No. Swapping a logo in the editor is free. Asking chat to rework logo or image work uses AI credits.

### Can I try a different logo style after the first result?

Yes. Edit, refine, or request a different style. Change one thing at a time for more predictable results.

### Do I need to check trademarks?

Airo AI Builder does not verify legal clearance for you. Search the name, check trademark records, and look for similar businesses before you commit to print or signage.

### Where does logo work live in the product?

Start in **Logo Designer** mode on the **Brand** tab. Switch to **Preview** to see how the brand looks on a live site.
